George Will Lashes Out At Rape Victims

Ever since the age of Reagan, America has been under assault from the right—the purveyors of violence, intolerance, hatred, impious sanctimony, and remorseless greed. One of its high ministers, George Will, the soft-spoken, bow-tied spewer of filth, has unleashed his pathological demons in regular Washington Post, ABC, and now Fox News diatribes. His latest column is a new low in right-wing callousness. He calls college students victimized by rape “entitled…privileged young adults.” That’s right, George, who probably never got laid in college and is lashing out at coeds whom he thinks put out for everybody but him, is fuming with righteous indignation at those who dare to report being sexually assaulted. Whatever happened to the law-and-order wing of the Republican Party? Conservatives now condone armed insurrection by backwoods, imbecilic, gun-toting bigots; billionaire tax cheats; Tea Party death threats against a sitting President; and now rape on college campuses. Please bring back that raging law-and-order liberal Richard Nixon.

Read for yourself what George wrote:

“…when they (college students and administrators) make victimhood a coveted status that confers privileges, victims proliferate. And academia’s progressivism has rendered it intellectually defenseless now that progressivism’s achievement, the regulatory state, has decided it is academia’s turn to be broken to government’s saddle.
“Consider the supposed campus epidemic of rape, a.k.a. ‘sexual assault.’

“…(a) woman reported that she had been raped. Now the Obama administration is riding to the rescue of ‘sexual assault’ victims. It vows to excavate equities from the ambiguities of the hookup culture, this cocktail of hormones, alcohol and the faux sophistication of today’s prolonged adolescence of especially privileged young adults.”

[Note to the reader: Let me interpret the above paragraph from “Will-ese” into plain English—“How dare the Obama administration try to prevent rape on college campus. These snotty young punks who voted for our Kenyan president need to feel the shame and devastation of good old-fashioned, violent, forcible sex. Serves them right for being leftists with enough money to go to college. I’m the only one who deserves money and privilege in America, because I am more sophisticated and eloquent than those rotten brats ever will be. God I’m getting turned on by the very sick sexual fantasies daddy used to force on me.”]

George’s next paragraph needs no interpretation: “Meanwhile, the newest campus idea for preventing victimizations — an idea certain to multiply claims of them — is ‘trigger warnings.’ They would be placed on assigned readings or announced before lectures. Otherwise, traumas could be triggered in students whose tender sensibilities would be lacerated by unexpected encounters with racism, sexism, violence (dammit, Hamlet, put down that sword!) or any other facet of reality that might violate a student’s entitlement to serenity.”

George is okay with hundreds of thousands of college students being raped. A recent New York Times article reported that one in five female college students are victims of rape. And since most never even come forward to report it, the real number is much higher.

I have posted a link on Twitter @tpfleming to have George fired from the Washington Post.
